Funding program for cooperation projects and research alliances in the life-sciences
The Bavarian Research Foundation has set itself the task of providing targeted support for the research and development of future technologies in the field of life-sciences. With the “High Technologies for the 21st Century” funding program, it offers a valuable source of funding for innovative projects in the fields of medical technology, imaging techniques and new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches using biotechnology and genetic engineering.
Eligible projects
Two main types of projects can benefit from funding:
Funding generally covers up to 50% of the project costs. The remaining 50% must be provided by the partners involved as their own contribution. This own contribution can take the form of both financial support and non-cash benefits such as personnel and material costs.

The condition is that these institutions must have their registered office, place of business or a branch in Bavaria. Each project must be supported by a lead applicant and at least one other partner involved in the project. In the case of research alliances, a spokesperson from science or industry is responsible for coordination.
